Philbrick Transcriptions, Inc. is actively compliant with the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
Protecting the privacy of the patient’s health information record is of the utmost importance in this service industry, and therefore we have developed our own Policies, Contracts and Agreements which ensure total compliance from all of our medical transcriptionists to include, but not limited to, the following:
- Confidentiality statements (kept updated yearly in our office)
- Documentation of training
- Work performed in a secure area agreement
- MT contract termination procedures to include shredded destruction of hard copy patient health information, certifying all patient health information and demographic information has been appropriately returned and/or destroyed.
We believe that by having these policies in place, as well as keeping pace with any new HIPAA guidelines and rules, we are actively complying with patient privacy expectations as well as defining clear expectations for our staff. |
